• They used to adhere to their traditional burial rites some of which include exhuming a long dead body in order to release spirits
• They welcome guests with their local beverage known as Ajon which is made from millet
• Their interactions with other communities has impacted the Itesoculture as some cultural practices have been assimilated to their practices

Waat

• They are considered to be One of Kenya’s indigenous hunters and gatherers
• The Waata translates to people of the bow as it was their most valuable tool in their hunting activities
• The Waata now make a living frommaking charcoal, supplying building poles
• They have been marginalized by the Oromo who they were a part of and therefore their culture is being pushed to extinction

Konso

• Konso Cultural Landscape has been recognized by UNESCO as a heritage centre
• Konso sites feature wooden statues - grouped to represent respected members of their communities and particularly heroic events
• The Konso follow their indigenous traditional beliefs that is shared with the Oromo
