Sakuye

• Mostly identify themselves as Borana
• Practice some Pre-Islamic beliefs
• They use Dagora (cloth) which they wrap around themselves from hip downwards and a lot of ornaments on their heads especially which they call Shabat
• The Sakuye have venerated sacred sites, solely conserved and preserved as part of their cultural traditions and symbols of charisma that can be easily accessed
• One of the Sakuye Shrines is believed to have sacred water and all the Sakuye communities across Kenya travel to the site once every mid-year to pay pilgrimage on the sacred grounds.

Leysan

Considered a somalisub tribe and shares most cultural practices with them

Luo

• The Luo people are well known for their fishing activities and are believed to be the first community to fish by the Lake Victoria
• The Luo preserve some of their ritualistic cultural practices especially burial rites depending on how a person dies. Initiation rituals such as removing of the lower six teeth and tattooing of the body have however been phased out with time
• The Luo community are in particular known for their musical skills and instruments such as the Nyatiti particularly unique to them. • Their oral traditions have led to the preservation of some ancient notable personalities among the Luo. This includes LwandaMagere and Gor Mahia whom a Kenyan Football team is named after

Kisii

• They are known for soapstone carvings, basketry and pottery. The stone is mined and carved in Tabaka, South Mugirango, where several families specialize in this art. The craft attracts tourists and generates income for the community.
• The kisii are known for their farming  of bananas which are traced to their areas
• The favorite instrument among the Kisii is the obokhano (lyre) in their traditional music
